MEETING MINUTES

FEBRUARY 21 – 22, 2007

 

The meeting was held at US Postal Service Headquarters, 475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington DC.  All presentations can be downloaded from the MTAC website.

 

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21

 

The meeting was called to order at 12:00 noon by Susan Plonkey, Postal Chair, who encouraged all to sign up for the “PCC Insider” as well as the new free bimonthly publication “MailPro”.

It was announced that Linda Kingsley, USPS Senior Vice President, Strategy and Transition, Megan Brennan, USPS Vice President, Eastern Area and Mike Plunkett, USPS A/Vice President, Pricing and Classification have been newly named to the MTAC Leadership Committee.

 

Joyce McGarvy, Industry Chair, introduced new MTAC association executives as well as new MTAC representatives. 

 

Flats Summit

 

Joyce McGarvy also announced that there would be a Flats Summit to be held all day Thursday, May 17 at L’Enfant Plaza Hotel.  The normal two half day meeting format for MTAC would instead be all day on Wednesday, May 16 at USPS HQ. 

 

The New Postal Law

 

The Postmaster General, John E. Potter, was then introduced.  He provided comments on the new Postal Law and responded to questions from the audience.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Don Harle, Industry Vice Chair.  Members were reminded to renew their USPS HQ MTAC badges if they had not yet done so and to sign up for MITS. 

 

Kathy Ainsworth, the new Vice President, Delivery and Retail, USPS and Joanne Giordano, the new Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, USPS were introduced to MTAC.
