ACTION: Notification of public meeting on proposed rule. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Postal Service will be proposing new regulations on the manufacture, distribution, and use of postage meters. These regulations will appear for review and comment in an upcoming Federal Register notice. The proposed changes to existing regulations cover new management controls, security measures for the proper payment of postage, and a clarification of the responsibilities of meter manufacturers and meter licensees. A public meeting will be held to review the proposed regulations and to give all interested parties an opportunity to comment.
