Mailing Tools

The Postal Service offers a wide range of tools to help business mailers improve and better manage the quality of their mailing lists while maximizing our ability to efficiently deliver mail. These tools allow business mailers to keep up with the latest postal regulations, obtain software downloads, and maintain contact with National Customer Support Center representatives.

• Advance - a service that assists in the delivery and tracking of Standard Mail™ and Periodicals mailings with specific in-home delivery windows
  
  
• Address Information System (AIS) Viewer - an interactive CD-ROM that provides the ability to retrieve, view, and print accurate and current ZIP Code information for all 50 states
  
  
• Business Mail 101 - an online tool to help the beginning mailer understand how to use the mail to reach their most important customers
  
  
• Confirm^® Service - a service to electronically track First-Class Mail^® and Standard Mail services
  
  
• Delivery Confirmation™ Service - a cost-effective, efficient means of obtaining delivery information
  
  
• Delivery Statistics - contains data that defines the number of PO boxes and business/residential deliveries on city, rural, and highway contract routes for every ZIP Code in the country
  
  
• Drop Ship - contains data to assist mailers who deliver their presorted Periodicals, Standard Mail and Package Services mailings to bulk mail centers (BMC), sectional center facilities (SCF) or destination delivery units (DDU)
  
  
• eLOT™ Product - contains data that gives mailers the ability to sort their mailings in approximate carrier-casing sequence
  
  
• ePubWatch - a Web site system for Periodicals publishers to communicate with the Postal Service regarding delivery issues
  
  
• Labeling Lists - a product designed for mailer presort services and shippers to properly label trays, sacks, and pallets of mail for delivery
  
  
• Mailpiece Quality Control (MQC) Training - a self study program available to anyone who wants to learn more about mailpiece design, proper addressing, barcoding requirements and other USPS^® regulations

• RDI™ Certification - verifies whether a delivery type is classified as residential or business
  
  
• Service Standards - an interactive map of originating and destinating three-digit ZIP Codes, with mileage, plus a list of postal standards for various mail classes. Available on CD-ROM.
  
  
• Special Services - Certified Mail™, Insured Mail, Registered Mail™, Domestic Return Receipt, Return Receipt for Merchandise services
  
  
• Tiger/ZIP + 4^® Product - helps mailers explore new markets by gathering and manipulating data to uncover potential business areas
  
  
• Zone Charts - a product used to identify the appropriate distance code assigned to each originating and destination pairing for every ZIP Code in the nation. Available on CD-ROM.
