City State Product
The City State portion of City State Product is a comprehensive ZIP Code™ list including the city, county, and Post Office™ names associated with those ZIP Codes. It can be used to validate the city name and ZIP Code that is part of a mailing address, and as a link between other AIS product data. This product contains records to assist mailers with the following processing functions:
The Street Alias portion of the product contains all of the street alias and primary street names in the nation and can be used in conjunction with a separate application to locate the new name for a street. For example, if you cannot find a match in the ZIP + 4® Product, you can go into Street Alias and match on the ZIP Code and alias street names. If you find a match, you can use the street name and return to the ZIP + 4 Product.
The 5-Digit ZIP Scheme Combinations portion of the product contains a listing of 5-digit ZIP Code groupings. These groupings represent ZIP Codes that are processed and finalized on the same piece of equipment at the same time at Postal Service™ plants and delivery units. 5-Digit ZIP Scheme Combinations can assist you in qualifying for 5-digit automation rates for letters by providing a group of ZIP Codes to combine mailings that would appear in a single tray.
The Zone Split portion of the product is a list of ZIP Codes and carrier route identification codes that have been reorganized within the past eighteen months. If you cannot find a ZIP Code in the ZIP + 4 Product, check Zone Split to see if a new ZIP Code has been assigned.
The City State Product is available on CD-ROM or cartridge.
